COPYRIGHT POLICY
Everything you see here, and everything we deliver, was made with care by Sundial Creatives LLC. This page explains who owns it, what you may do with your film, and how to reach us about any of it.
1. What we own
Every film, teaser, photograph, still, piece of writing, and design on sundialcreatives.com, on our social channels, and in anything we deliver was created by Sundial Creatives LLC and belongs to Sundial Creatives LLC. That includes the raw footage from your wedding. Copyright is not transferred by booking, payment, or delivery.
2. Your license as a couple
When we deliver your film, you receive a personal, non-commercial license to it for life. Watch it as often as you like, keep copies, and share it with family and friends, including on your personal social accounts. The license is for the film as delivered, with its titles and credits intact.
3. What the license does not cover
Re-editing, re-cutting, or re-scoring the film; uploading it to a channel or page as your own work; removing or replacing our name or the music credit; selling it, licensing it, or entering it in competitions; and use by any business, including your other vendors, your venue, or your planner, without our written permission. If you would like something beyond the license, ask. The answer is usually yes.
4. Music
The music in your film is licensed to Sundial Creatives through our Musicbed membership for use in the film we deliver. That license covers your personal use of the finished film. It does not pass to you or to anyone else, so the music cannot be lifted out of the film or reused in a new edit.
5. Vendors, venues, and planners
We are glad to see our work shared by the people who made the day. Write to us with the film and where you would like to use it, and we will send a clip or a link with the terms, usually within a day. Credit Sundial Creatives wherever the work appears, and keep the music credit with it.
6. How we use your film
As your contract describes, we may share portions of your film and stills on our website and social channels, and in our own marketing, as examples of our work. You can ask us not to feature your wedding, and we will honor that.
7. To other businesses in this industry
If you run a studio, a planning business, a venue, or anything else in weddings and you are reading this page: our films, our footage, our words, our Collection Guide, and the design of this site are ours. Copying our copy, lifting our page designs or our guide, using our footage or stills in your own marketing, or presenting our films as examples of your work is copyright infringement. We keep dated records of everything we publish, and we act on it: a takedown notice to you and your host first, and then our attorney. We would much rather send you a clip with our name on it. Ask.
8. Reporting a problem
If you believe something on this site infringes your work, or if you find a Sundial Creatives film used somewhere without permission, write to javier@sundialcreatives.com with a link to the material, a description of the work you believe is affected, and how to reach you. We read every message and respond within a few business days. We may remove or alter material while we look into a claim.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
